About uwait
Waiting for AI should pay you, not waste you.
uwait is an ad network for AI wait-time. While ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Mistral, Copilot, DeepSeek, or Grok generate an answer, a discreet native ad fills those seconds, the user gets paid, and the sources the AI cited earn royalties.
The insight
Why does uwait exist?
Generative AI is built on the open web. It reads articles, forums, docs, and datasets, then it makes you wait a few seconds while it writes an answer back to you. Those seconds add up to nothing: you stare at a loading state, and the websites behind the answer get nothing either.
We thought that was backwards. The attention is real, the wait is real, so the value should flow to the people who deserve it. uwait turns that idle wait into income for you, and into royalties for the sources the AI used to answer.
Mission
What is uwait trying to do?
Build an honest economy around AI wait-time: pay users for the attention they already give, send fair royalties to the sources that feed the models, and give advertisers a clean, non-intrusive moment to reach tech power users. No prompts read, no individuals tracked, no answer ever blocked.
Principles
What does uwait stand for?
Privacy first
uwait never reads your prompts or the AI's answers. The extension only detects that an answer is being generated and which public domains the AI cited. Your conversations stay on your machine.
Fair split
Every winning bid is shared: 50% goes to you, the earner. 30% goes as royalties to the sources the AI cited. 20% keeps the platform running. The people and the websites that create value get paid.
Transparency
Ads run through a real-time auction and are placed natively without ever blocking the answer. Targeting is aggregated and anonymised, never tied to individuals or prompts. We say plainly what we do and do not do.
The royalty split is the ethical core of uwait. The AI uses the open web to answer, so part of every ad goes back to it. After a reply you can also choose to fund the sources directly with a few extra cents.
The model
How does uwait pay you?
The free Chrome extension watches for one signal: an AI is generating an answer. In that window, a real-time auction runs and the winning ad shows up natively, off to the side, never on top of your answer. The auction proceeds get split, and your share builds up in your balance.
- 50% of every winning bid goes to you, the earner.
- 30% goes as royalties to the public sources the AI cited.
- 20% keeps the platform and the auction running.
You withdraw to your bank account through Stripe once you pass the payout minimum. See the full mechanics on how it works, the details for earners, or advertise with us. More questions are answered in the FAQ.
