Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of uwait, the ad network for AI wait-time. They explain who can use uwait, how earnings and Stripe payouts work, the rules for earners and advertisers, and how we limit our liability.
Last updated: June 2026
01 / Eligibility
Who can use uwait?
To use uwait you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract in your country. By installing the extension or creating an account, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
- You may hold only one earner account. One account per person.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity on your account.
- If you use uwait on behalf of a company (for example as an advertiser), you confirm you are authorized to accept these terms for that company.
02 / The service
What is uwait?
uwait is an ad network for the time you spend waiting on AI. You install a free Chrome extension. While ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Mistral, Copilot, DeepSeek or Grok generate a response, a native, non-intrusive ad fills those few seconds of waiting, and you get paid for them.
The ad never blocks or delays the AI response. uwait works with ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Mistral, Copilot, DeepSeek and Grok, with more platforms added regularly. For the full walkthrough, see how it works.
uwait does not read your prompts or the AI responses. The extension only detects that a response is being generated and which public domains the AI cited. Your prompts and answers stay on your machine. The details are in our privacy policy.
03 / Earnings and payouts
How does uwait pay you?
When an advertiser wins a real-time bid for one of your wait-time slots, the winning bid is split three ways. Earners receive 50% of each winning bid as credits in their account. Cited sources receive 30% as royalties, and 20% goes to the platform.
When do credits become payable?
- Credits accrue from verified, winning bids. Earnings are not guaranteed: there is no fixed or promised amount, because it depends on advertiser demand and your activity.
- We may place anti-fraud holds on credits while we review unusual activity. Credits tied to fraud, invalid traffic, or terms violations can be reversed or removed.
- Once you pass the payout minimum, you can withdraw to your bank account through Stripe. Payouts are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's own terms.
- You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your earnings in your jurisdiction.
More detail for earners lives on the earners page and the FAQ.
04 / Acceptable use
What is not allowed?
uwait depends on real people spending real wait-time. To keep payouts fair, the following are prohibited:
- Automation, bots, scripts, or any tool that simulates AI usage or generates fake impressions or traffic.
- Fraud, click manipulation, or artificially inflating your activity.
- Running more than one earner account, or sharing or selling accounts.
- Tampering with the extension, reverse engineering uwait, or interfering with the bidding system.
- Using uwait for anything illegal, or in a way that violates the terms of the AI platforms you use it with.
We may suspend or close accounts, withhold or reverse credits, and refuse payouts when we detect a violation.
05 / Advertiser terms
Rules for advertisers
Advertisers bid in real time for native placements in AI wait-time. By running a campaign you agree to the following:
Bidding and billing
- Bids are binding. You are billed for the placements your bids win, based on delivered, verified activity.
- Targeting is aggregated and anonymized. uwait never targets individuals and never exposes prompts or responses.
Content rules
- Your ads must be lawful, accurate, and not deceptive. No malware, illegal content, or content that infringes others' rights.
- You are responsible for the creative and claims in your ads, and for any required disclosures.
- We may reject, pause, or remove campaigns that break these rules. To get started, see advertise with uwait.
Refunds and credits
- A campaign rejected during review, before any delivery, is refunded in full to your advertiser balance. Nothing was served, so nothing is charged.
- Once a campaign has started serving, you are billed only for delivered, verified impressions. The unspent part of its budget returns to your balance; delivered impressions are not refundable.
- Promotional credits granted by uwait (for example launch-offer bonus credits) can only be spent on ad delivery. They are never redeemable for cash, refundable, or withdrawable.
06 / Source royalties
What is the 30% allocation?
From every winning bid, 30% is allocated as royalties for the public sources the AI cited in its answer. AI systems build on the work of those sources, so uwait routes a share of ad revenue back toward them.
Separately, after a response you can optionally send a few cents directly to the sites the AI cited. That feature is Fund the Sources, the ethical counterpart to using their content.
07 / Privacy
How do we handle your data?
We do not read your prompts or the AI responses. The extension only detects that a response is in progress and which public domains were cited. Our full practices are described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
08 / Intellectual property
Who owns what?
uwait, including the extension, the platform, our name, logo, and design, belongs to uwait and its founder. These terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you.
Advertisers keep ownership of their own creative, and grant uwait the rights needed to display and deliver their ads through the network. You keep ownership of anything that stays on your own machine.
09 / Disclaimers and liability
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
uwait is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee any specific level of earnings, advertiser demand, uptime, or results.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, uwait is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost earnings. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amounts paid to or by you through uwait in the prior twelve months.
uwait is not responsible for the AI platforms you use it with, or for the third-party services it relies on, such as Stripe for payouts.
10 / Changes
Can these terms change?
We may update these terms as uwait evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use uwait after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
11 / Governing law
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled by the competent courts there, unless mandatory local law gives you other rights.
