Chrome extension
The uwait Chrome extension
uwait is a free Chrome extension that pays you for the seconds you already spend waiting while ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Mistral, Copilot, DeepSeek or Grok generate an answer. It fills that wait with one discreet, native ad, and it never reads your prompts or the responses.

What it does
What does the uwait extension do?
When a supported AI starts writing a reply, there is a short wait while the model thinks. uwait detects that wait and runs a real-time auction for that single moment. The winning ad slides in as a native, non-intrusive placement next to the answer. It never blocks or delays the response.
Each winning bid is split three ways: 50% to you, the earner, 30% in royalties to the public sources the AI cited, and 20% to run the platform. You can read the full breakdown on the how it works page, and learn about the optional Fund the Sources feature that lets you send a few cents back to the sites an answer relied on.
Privacy
What does the extension see, and what does it never see?
uwait is built so it never needs to read your conversation. It only watches for the signals it needs to fill the wait and pay the right people. Your prompts and the AI answers stay on your machine.
What it sees
- ✓That an answer is being generated right now (the typing state), so it knows when to fill the wait.
- ✓Which public domains the AI cited in its answer, so royalties can reach those sources.
- ✓Which supported site you are on (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Mistral, Copilot, DeepSeek or Grok), to load the right placement.
What it never sees
- ×Your prompts. What you type stays on your machine.
- ×The AI's answers. The text the model writes is never sent to uwait.
- ×Your other tabs, browsing history, passwords or files.
Targeting for advertisers is aggregated and anonymised. uwait never sells or shares individual data or prompts. More detail lives on do we read your prompts?
Compatibility
Which platforms are supported?
The extension works on the major AI chat assistants today, and more are added regularly.
uwait runs on desktop Chrome and Chromium browsers. It only activates on these AI sites and stays dormant everywhere else.
